How to install and sign in to the Leadnote app
Install the Leadnote Android app and log in with your business email and password or a one-time code. Covers trial sign-up, two-step codes and update prompts.
To use Leadnote on your phone, install the Leadnote app on an Android phone and log in with the same business email and password you use on the web. If you have forgotten the password, you can log in with a one-time code that Leadnote emails to you.
The app is built for Android 7.0 and newer. There is no iPhone version yet, so on an iPhone open Leadnote in the browser instead.
Before you start
You need three things:
- An Android phone with a data connection for the first login. After that the app works offline.
- A Leadnote account. If you are joining a team, ask the Account Owner or a manager to invite you first. See Add and invite users.
- Your business email address and password. A new teammate receives a temporary password and is asked to choose a new one at the first login.
Install the app
- Open the store listing or the installation link you were given.
- Tap Install and wait for the download to finish.
- Tap Open. The Welcome screen shows "Accelerate your sales" with three highlights: Capture leads anywhere, Follow up on time and Works offline.
If a language chip appears on the Welcome screen, tap it to choose from the eight supported languages before you log in. See Languages and Arabic in the Leadnote app.
Log in with your password
- On the Welcome screen tap Existing user? Log in.
- Enter your Business email.
- Enter your Password. Tap the eye icon if you want to check what you typed.
- Tap Log in.
If the details are wrong, the app says "Incorrect email or password." After 10 wrong passwords for the same email within 15 minutes it shows "Too many attempts." and a countdown ("Try again in ...") before you can try again. Other sign-in problems are covered in I can't log in.
Log in with a one-time code
Use this when you do not know your password.
- On the Log in screen tap Log in using OTP.
- Enter your Business email and tap Send code.
- Open your email. Leadnote sends a 6 digit code that is valid for 10 minutes.
- Enter the code in the 6 digit code box and tap Verify and log in.
If the email does not arrive, tap Send a new code (a short countdown appears between requests) or Use a different email. For the reasons an email can go missing, see Verification code or email not arriving.
Two-step verification
If two-step verification is on for your account, you see one more screen after the password or code. Open your authenticator app and enter the 6 digit code for Leadnote, then tap Verify and log in. If you lost the phone with the authenticator, tap Use a recovery code and enter one of the codes you saved. Each recovery code works once.
If your organisation requires two-step verification and you have not set it up, the app walks you through it: add Leadnote to your authenticator app by tapping Open authenticator app or by typing the Setup key, enter the 6 digit code, then save your recovery codes. The codes are shown only once, so tap Copy all codes and keep them somewhere safe. Background on the feature is in Two-factor authentication.
Create a trial account from the app
You can also start a new workspace on the phone.
- On the Welcome screen tap Sign up for Trial Plan.
- Fill in Your name, Company name, Business email and Password. The password needs at least 8 characters, a letter and a number.
- Tap Create my account.
If the email already has an account the app offers Log in instead. If sign-ups are paused you see "New sign-ups are closed right now. Contact support."
Screens you might meet after logging in
| Screen | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Setting up your account | The first download of your data is running. | Wait. See First sync explained. |
| Change your password | Your administrator requires a new password, for example after an invitation. | Enter the temporary password, then a new password twice. |
| Update required | This app version is too old for the server. | Update the app, then log in. Unsent changes are kept. |
| Account suspended | Your organisation's account is suspended. | Contact your administrator, then tap Check again. Unsent changes are kept. |
If you cannot log in
- Check the email for typos and that you use your business email, not a personal one.
- Try the one-time code route to rule out a forgotten password.
- Tap Contact support on the Log in screen, describe the problem and send the message. Leadnote replies by email.
- You can also reset the password on the web: see Reset or change your password.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Leadnote app for iPhone?
Not yet. The Leadnote app is built for Android phones (Android 7.0 or newer). On an iPhone you can open Leadnote in the browser, because the web app is responsive.
Which email and password do I use in the app?
The same business email and password you use on the web. The app has no separate account.
I do not remember my password. Can I still log in?
Yes. Tap Log in using OTP and the app emails a 6 digit code to your business email. You can also tap Forgot password and use the reset link.
Why does the app say Update required?
Your organisation runs a newer Leadnote than this version of the app supports. Update the app from your app store and log in again. Changes you have not sent yet are kept.
