Lists and lead capture
Leadnote QR code: print or show it to capture leads
Download, print or display the QR code of a Leadnote list form so visitors at events, stores or reception can scan it and submit their details.
Every Leadnote list has a QR code that opens its public enquiry form. Print it, put it on a screen or add it to a banner, and anyone who scans it with their phone camera can type their details and become a lead in that list. You can download, print or show the code from four places on the web.
Where to find the QR code
| Place | How to open it | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| List page | Lists, Actions, Edit List, Inquiry Forms tab | See the banner and QR code, Download QR as a PNG image |
| Forms page | Hub, Data Management, Leadnote Forms, then Show QR code on a form | See the code with a banner line and the link, copy the link, Print |
| Form builder | Open a form with Edit form, then QR code in the Share and embed card | The same window, with your own QR banner text above the code |
| Organisation QR banner | Go to /hub/qr-banner on your Leadnote address |
Pick a list, download as SVG, print a roll-up banner, copy the link, create a new link |
All four point to the same form link for the list, so a code from one place works the same as a code from another. There is no menu item for the Organisation QR banner page, so type its address, or use the link in the Product Updates entry for the public enquiry form.
Download the QR code from a list
- Open Lists.
- On the row of your list open Actions and choose Edit List.
- Stay on the Inquiry Forms tab. The heading reads "Your lead capture form and lead capture QR is ready!".
- Find the banner with your organisation name, "Welcomes You" and "Scan QR to Submit Your Inquiry".
- Click Download QR to save a PNG image of the code.
Leadnote suggests printing the banner and keeping it above your booth at a trade show or at your reception, so visitors can scan and submit enquiries themselves.
Show or print from the Forms page
- Open Leadnote Forms and find the form.
- Click Show QR code. The window "QR code: (list name)" shows a banner line above the code and the link below it, with a copy button.
- Click Print. A clean page opens with only the banner line, the code and the link, ready for your printer.
Use the Organisation QR banner page
This page is for printing a roll-up banner for events, stores or reception. It shows a banner preview with your organisation name and the QR code.
- Choose the List if you have more than one. The banner follows the list you pick.
- See the Enquiry form link and how many submissions have come so far.
- Use the buttons:
- Copy link puts the form link on your clipboard.
- Preview form opens the live form in a new tab.
- Download QR (SVG) saves a scalable image that stays sharp at any size, ideal for big banners.
- Print banner prints the banner.
Each person only sees lists they own or have access to. If you have no lists yet, the page asks you to create one first.
Change the banner text
The line above the code in the form builder's QR window is set per form. Open the form builder, scroll to After submit and appearance, and edit QR banner text (up to 120 characters). Default: "Scan to share your details". The window opened from the Forms page always shows the default line, and the list tab and Organisation QR banner page have their own fixed banners. See customise your lead capture form.
Replace a leaked or outdated link
If a link has been shared by mistake, or a printed code is out of date, an Account Owner or Manager can create a fresh one:
- Open the Organisation QR banner page.
- Select the list.
- Click Create a new link and confirm Create new link.
You see "New link created. The old link no longer works." Every printed QR code and shared link for that list stops working at once and shows a "Not valid!" page. Print the new code and replace the old material. Embed code you pasted into a website also stops working and must be copied again.
Other things change with the link:
- The list's List key, which is the same value as the form key, changes too. Anything that sends it as
listKeythrough the API needs the new value. - The new link starts with the standard form. Open Leadnote Forms and check the fields, theme and thank-you message you had set.
Tips for printed codes
- Print the code at least 3 cm wide, or larger for banners seen from a distance.
- Keep a quiet margin around the code and avoid placing it on a busy photo.
- Test with two different phones before printing a large run.
- Put a short instruction beside it, such as "Scan to share your details".
- Use Download QR (SVG) for banners and Download QR (PNG) for slides and documents.
QR codes on mobile
The Leadnote mobile app does not scan QR codes and it does not show form QR codes. To share a form from the phone, open Add Leads, use the form tile under "More ways to add leads (using Web)", choose the list, and share or copy the link. A visitor opens the link in a browser. For in-person capture without a scanner, use business card scanning.
What happens after a scan
The visitor sees the form of the list, fills in their details and submits. They become a lead with source Enquiry form, assigned using the list's rule. See lead capture forms.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find the QR code for a list?
Open Lists, choose Edit List on the list, and stay on the Inquiry Forms tab. The QR code and a Download QR button are there. You can also use Show QR code on the Leadnote Forms page.
Can I scan QR codes with the Leadnote app?
No. The app does not scan QR codes and it cannot show or print a form's QR code. Visitors scan your form's QR code with their own phone camera.
I printed the QR code and now it must stop working. What do I do?
An Account Owner or Manager can open the Organisation QR banner page, select the list and click Create a new link. The old link and every printed code stop working at once.
Can I change the text above the QR code?
Yes, for the QR window you open from the form builder. Edit the form, open After submit and appearance and change QR banner text. The default is 'Scan to share your details'.
