Getting started
Leadnote welcome wizard and product tour explained
The Welcome to Leadnote wizard guides you through five short steps and the Onboarding tour shows five feature areas. Here is how to run or reopen both.
The Welcome to Leadnote wizard is a short guided setup that opens the first time you reach the app after signing up, and the Onboarding tour is a five-tab overview of what Leadnote can do. You can skip or reopen either one at any time from the Help menu in the top bar.
The Welcome to Leadnote wizard
The wizard has five steps and a final summary. It opens by itself on your first visit and keeps returning on later visits until you complete it, so you cannot lose it by closing the tab. Each step has Skip this step and Got it, continue buttons, and Finish later closes the wizard while keeping your place.
| Step | What it shows | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | Turn on browser notifications | Select Enable notifications and allow the browser prompt, or Skip for now. This only gets your browser ready: the step itself says live browser alerts for new leads and follow-ups are not available yet. |
| Instant reply | The enquiry form and QR banner of your Sample Leads list (or your oldest active list) | Select Open Inquiry Form. It opens in a new tab. Submit the form as a prospect would, return and select I filled the form and submitted. Leadnote checks that the submission arrived. |
| Assignment alerts | How teammates are told when a lead is assigned | Read the preview of the message the assignee receives. This step is informational. |
| Follow-up reminder | How reminders look | Select Set a test follow-up for me. A follow-up is set for two minutes from now on the newest lead in that list (the sample lead if you have no other), so you can see it appear in your follow-ups. |
| Task reminder | Lead-specific tasks | Select Create my first task. A sample task titled "Welcome to Leadnote! Complete your account setup" is created for you. |
| All set | A summary of what you achieved | Choose how to continue (see below). |
If your organisation has no list yet, the instant reply step says "Create a list to get an enquiry form." Create one first, as described in What are lists.
Finishing the wizard
On the last screen you pick one of two paths:
- Talk to our expert opens the Contact Leadnote Support Team form with "Schedule a demo" and a message already filled in, so you only have to submit it.
- Setup my account by myself opens the Onboarding tour.
Either choice marks the wizard as completed for your user.
The Onboarding tour
The tour is a pop-up with five tabs. Use the arrows or tab buttons to move between them, and Thank You closes it on the last tab.
- Capture Leads - the ways leads come in: Facebook, website enquiries, business cards and file import.
- Assign & follow-up - automatic distribution of new leads and follow-up reminders.
- Engage with leads - email, calls, WhatsApp and text, with reusable templates.
- Track all conversations - activities, file attachments and locations visited, recorded on each lead.
- Get Insightful Reports - Sales Insights, the Activity Report and Team Performance.
The links inside each tab open the matching screen. Go to feature discovery center opens the Hub, described in Find your way around Leadnote.
Reopen the wizard or the tour
- Select the Help button (a question mark) in the top bar.
- Choose Onboarding for the tour or Aha! Moments for the wizard.
If you restart the wizard after completing it, it begins again from the first step. The Hub also has an Onboarding card, described as a guided setup for new users.
The Kanban tip
After you finish the wizard, a small popover titled Fresh Kanban View for Leads! may appear on screens other than the leads list. Get Me there! takes you to the leads board, where each column is a lead stage and you drag cards to move leads forward. Dismissing it saves the choice, so it does not return.
Who sees what
The wizard and tour are per user: each person who signs in sees them once. The industry questionnaire that appears directly after sign-up is separate and only shown to the account owner. See Set up your organisation.
Next steps
Look at the dashboard to see where your first lead and your test follow-up appear.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open the Leadnote welcome wizard again?
Select the Help button (the question mark) in the top bar and choose Aha! Moments. Choose Onboarding in the same menu to open the product tour instead.
What if I close the wizard before the end?
Select Finish later. Your progress is kept, and the wizard is offered again on your next visit until you complete it.
Does the wizard create real data?
Yes, a little. The follow-up step sets a test follow-up on a lead two minutes ahead, and the task step creates a sample task. You can delete both afterwards.
Why does the browser notification step say notifications are blocked?
Your browser has blocked notifications for the site. Click the lock icon in the address bar, allow notifications, then try again, or skip the step.
