Getting started
How to create a Leadnote account
Create a Leadnote account in two short steps: your details first, then your company name. No credit card and no email verification code is needed.
You create a Leadnote account on the sign-up page in two steps: first your name, work email and password, then your company name. When you finish, Leadnote builds your workspace, signs you in and takes you straight to a short questionnaire about your business. No card and no email verification is involved.
Before you start
Have these four things ready:
- Your name.
- A work email address. This becomes your sign-in name, and it cannot be changed later from the company settings screen.
- A password of your choice.
- Your company name, as you want your team to see it.
Each email address can belong to only one Leadnote account, so use the address you will really read.
Create your account on the web
- Open the Leadnote website and choose Get Leadnote free, or choose Create an account on the sign-in page. The sign-up page is titled Create your account.
- Under Step 1 of 2, fill in Your name, Work email and Password.
- Watch the password rules under the field. A password must have at least 8 characters, a letter and a number. A password of 12 or more characters, or one with a symbol, scores higher on the strength meter (Weak, Fair, Good, Strong), but only the first three rules are required. The full rules are in change or reset your password.
- Select Continue.
- Under Step 2 of 2, enter your Company name. The page also lists what you get, such as a 14-day free trial with no card needed, and Leadnote AI to help with follow-ups.
- Select Create my workspace.
- A short "You are in" confirmation appears and Leadnote moves you on automatically.
What Leadnote sets up for you
The moment you create the account, Leadnote prepares a ready-to-use workspace:
| Item | What you get |
|---|---|
| Your role | You become the Account Owner, the one person with full control of settings, billing and roles. |
| Lead stages | Six default stages: Open, Contacted, Qualified, Customer, Inactive Customer and Deal Lost. You can rename, add and reorder them later. |
| A list | One list called Sample Leads, which holds a single record: you. It is marked with the source "Signup" and is left out of dashboard statistics. |
| A trial | The workspace starts as a 14-day trial. The account menu in the top right shows Free trial until you choose a plan, and the Plan page shows the days left. |
| A welcome email | Sent to the address you signed up with. |
The sample record exists so that the dashboard, lists and lead screens are not blank on day one. You can edit or delete it like any other lead once you have your own data.
What happens right after sign-up
After the confirmation, Leadnote opens a four-question page for the account owner. Its greeting says it takes 15 seconds. It asks about your industry, how you manage leads today, your website and your biggest challenge. Read more in Set up your organisation.
Then you reach the dashboard, and the Welcome to Leadnote wizard opens on your first visit. It walks you through notifications, an instant-reply form, follow-up reminders and a first task. See Welcome wizard and product tour.
Create an account on the mobile app
The Leadnote mobile app offers Sign up for Trial Plan on its welcome screen. The form is titled Start your free trial and asks for Your name, Company name, Business email and Password, then Create my account. The same password rules apply. Accounts created on a phone and on the web are identical; you can sign in to either with the same details.
If sign-up does not work
- "An account with this email already exists." Use Log in instead, or reset your password if you have forgotten it.
- "Sign-ups are closed at the moment." or "Sign-ups from this email domain are not allowed." Leadnote can pause new registrations or block certain email domains. Contact Leadnote support through the Contact page on the website.
- Nothing happens when you press Continue. Look for a red message under a field. Name, email, password and company name are all required.
Next steps
Once you are in, the first-week checklist lists the setup tasks in a sensible order, and the dashboard article explains what you are looking at.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to create a Leadnote account?
No. Sign-up asks for your name, work email, a password and your company name. Payment details are only requested later, if you choose to keep a paid plan.
Will I get a verification email before I can use my account?
No. Your workspace opens as soon as you finish the second step. Leadnote queues a welcome email, but you do not have to click anything in it.
Can I sign up from the mobile app instead?
Yes. The Leadnote mobile app has a Sign up for Trial Plan option that asks for the same four details and creates the same kind of workspace.
What if my email already has an account?
You will see that an account with this email already exists, with a Log in instead link. Use it and sign in with your existing password.
