Fix: trial ended, plan expired or account suspended

What to do when Leadnote says your trial has ended, your plan expired or your account is suspended, who can renew and how to reach support without signing in.

Last updated 5 min read

Three different situations look similar from the outside: a trial that ended, a paid plan that expired, and a suspended account. They have different messages and different fixes, so match yours first. In all three, Leadnote keeps your data.

Quick checks

  1. Read the exact message. "Your trial has ended", "Your plan expired on {date}" and "This account is suspended" are three different cases.
  2. Sign in as the Account Owner. Only the owner can pay or renew.
  3. Open Plan & Billing and read the plan status and the Expires on date.
  4. If you cannot sign in at all because of a suspension, use the Contact page on the website.

Which case is it?

Message Case What to do
"Your trial has ended. Choose a plan to keep capturing and managing leads." Free trial over The owner chooses a plan with Upgrade plan or Renew an expired plan.
"{n} days left. Upgrade any time to keep all your data and your team connected." Trial still running Upgrade whenever you like.
"Payment due" or "Payment overdue by {n} days", with "Your plan expired on {date}. {n} days left in the grace period." Paid plan expired, grace period running Choose Pay now. Access continues during the grace period.
"Your plan was moved to Free" with "The payment was not received, so the plan was downgraded on {date}. Your data is safe. Pay now to restore your plan." Grace period over The owner pays to restore the plan.
"Your plan ended on {date}. Renew to continue." You cancelled the subscription and the period ended Choose Renew plan.
"This account is suspended. Contact support." Suspended account Contact support, as described below.

Trial ended

A new account starts with a 14 day trial. When it ends, Leadnote shows "Your trial has ended" with an Upgrade plan button. To continue, the Account Owner opens Plan & Billing, chooses a plan, picks the number of users and pays. Details are in upgrade and payments and plans, seats and usage.

Plan expired and the grace period

Before a paid plan ends, Leadnote emails the billing address with reminders and a secure pay link, which works even if nobody can sign in. After the end date you see "Payment due" and then how many days of grace remain. The length of the grace period is set by Leadnote and shown on the page.

If the grace period passes without payment, the plan normally moves to Free. Your data stays, you can still sign in and you can pay to restore the plan. The Free plan has its own user seat limit, so adding or reactivating users can then fail with "Your plan has no free user seats left. Remove a user or upgrade your plan to add more." See user seats and limits.

If a payment fails, the checkout shows a reason such as "The card was declined. Try another card or payment method." or "The payment provider could not be reached. Try again in a moment." Try another method or try again later. "This payment is already being processed. Wait a moment and check again." means a payment is still in progress; wait before paying again.

If you started to pay and closed the page, the plan page says "You left the payment page without paying. Nothing was charged."

Account suspended

A suspension is set by Leadnote, not by the plan screen, so you cannot lift it from your settings. There are two cases:

  • Suspended by Leadnote support. Only Leadnote support can reactivate the account.

  • Suspended for non-payment. Leadnote can be set up to suspend an account, instead of moving it to Free, when the grace period ends. The overdue notice then says "Pay now to keep your account active". The pay link in the reminder emails works even though nobody can sign in, and a payment lifts this kind of suspension. A suspension set by Leadnote support is never lifted by a payment.

  • Web: after signing in you see "This account is suspended". The text says "Your sign-in is kept. When Leadnote support reactivates the account you can carry on right here, without signing in again." Choose Contact support, which opens the website Contact page, or Check again. The page checks by itself about every 30 seconds ("Still suspended"). On the sign-in page the message is "This account is suspended. Contact support."

  • Mobile app: the screen reads "Account suspended: Your organisation's account is suspended. Contact your administrator. Your unsent changes are kept and will be sent when access returns." Tap Check again later.

  • Forms, webhooks and the API: while the account is suspended, new leads are not captured. Imports also fail with the same message.

Because the in-app support request needs a working account, use the Contact page on the website, choose the topic Issue or support, and give your organisation name and the email on your account. After reactivation you carry on in the same session. See contact Leadnote support.

Still stuck?

If you paid but the plan page still shows the old state, send support the payment date, the amount and the invoice number shown in Plan & Billing.

Frequently asked questions

Who can renew or upgrade the plan?

Only the Account Owner. Managers can view Plan and Billing, but upgrading, renewing, cancelling and saving payment methods are owner actions.

Can I still sign in after my plan expired?

Usually yes. After the grace period the plan normally moves to Free, and you can still sign in and pay to restore it. Leadnote can instead be set to suspend the account after the grace period, in which case the app is blocked until the payment is made or Leadnote reactivates it.

How long is the free trial?

New accounts start with a 14 day trial. The Plan page shows how many days are left.

Will my unsent changes on the phone be lost when the account is suspended?

No. The app keeps them and sends them when access returns.
